She’s gained a solid audience of smart, “well healed” clients who drive in from Beverly Hills, Studio City and even Santa Monica to shop her well curated, well priced selection of quality antiques. I actually met 3 customers while I was there that were all from Los Angeles.
Here’s why they are willing to drive ….A large, gorgeous, burled walnut secretary was $2900 instead of $7500. A pair of Louis the XIV 8’ sofas were $2800 for the pair instead of the $3500-$4000 you’d pay in Pasadena. A newly upholstered French Bergere Chair and ottoman was $1595 instead of the L.A. price of $1900 for the set. A French Louis XVI style sofa that would retail at over $4000 in Los Angeles, was $2995 here. The ceiling is rich with hundreds of antique chandeliers. A 1950’s traditional eight-arm crystal chandelier was $1995 instead of $2200. These are truly exceptional pieces, not regularly found in most antique stores.
Don’t miss the secret basement showroom downstairs also packed with unique pieces. You’ll have to be escorted. There was also a wall of gorgeous lamp shades in every color, shape, size and color here as well. Perfect for those looking for tat unique shade.
Though the quality of the antique pieces here are excellent, it’s Denise who makes this place feel like a second home. I’m sure that her genuine warmth, impeccable service along with the savings is why people drive so far to shop here.
You won’t go home hungry either. Old Town Orange has added new bistro style restaurants, bars and eateries giving it a much hipper and livelier vibe than before.
