This year, I got gift cards for Christmas. We don’t normally give or get gift cards of any kind, but this year I got several. I got to experience the feeling of having free money to burn.

Oops and Wow! Faster than it takes to finish a cup of coffee I had made 2 purchases at Nordstrom’s Half Yearly Sale Christmas Day.

2 items I had seen and loved were both on sale. Though not as steeply discThe next dayounted as a designer Sample Sales, since it was “free” money, I snapped up a lovely faux fur Gingersnap coat for $79 instead of $120 and some PJ Salvage PJs for $37.20 instead of $59.

Once again I was caught up in the shopping frenzy.
The next day, I grabbed my mother in law and the 2 of us set out to do some damage with our gift cards at the mall.

The Mall was packed and the sales at several stores including Loft, Banana Republic, Bath and Body Works and Macy’s had substantial good sales going on.

Clothes were pulled and tried, product analyzed and oohed and awed after, good conversations and silly fun were had all around… but nothing was purchased. Absolutely nothing.

So we left, picked up hubby and followed up our foray with a spectacular Spanish meal at Casa Cordoba in Montrose. Their Chicken Paella is fantastic and their Steak Churrasco is absolutely killer. Can’t say enough great things about this restaurant!

The Holiday hubbub caught up with us that night and we all spent the next 4 days pretty much sleeping all day or streaming movies. We should all get some rest when we can.

As we gear up for BIG…. BIG changes this New Year on BargainsLA, we’ll be grateful for the rest we just got, the loved ones we spent time with… and the gifts we received this Christmas.

It will be a very Happy New Year!
