Women's Resale Boutique

By Suzanne O'Connor

There are many ways to help people who are homeless. One simple way is to shop at the Made By DWC Resale Shop in Downtown.

At this bright, welcoming and well-organized boutique, you’ll save 30-90% here on new and resale brand and designer apparel, shoes, handbags and accessories with 100% of the profits going to the Downtown Women’s Center.

The Downtown Women’s Center (DWC) is the only organization in Los Angeles focused exclusively on serving and empowering women experiencing homelessness and formerly homeless women. Here they find real help.

They carry a great mix of high and low end goods at ridiculous prices. First check the $2 and $4 sale racks. Hot buys included an Ann Taylor Loft crocheted skirt for $2 and a green dress by Single for $2.

Then check the back racks where everything is an additional 75% off their original price.  A pair of Joes Jeans that had been priced at $40 were now just $8.50. A Banana Republic shirt was $8.

But there is more! Some NWT Hudson Skinny jeans $50 instead of $160.  Free People skinny’s for $60. A NWT Lucky Brand peasant blouse was $25 instead of $80. An Ann Taylor Blouse was $25. A NWT Caftan Jacket by J Jill was $40 instead of $129.  A Wayfe dress was $40 or you could by 2 for $20.  A pair of Banana Republic trousers were $30 and some Boho wide legged pants were just $12.

Also spotted were mint J Crew silver sandals at $35.  Some Ed Hardy Tiger pumps were $25. A gorgeous pair of Stuart Weitzmann Satin pumps were $40. Some very cool Cathy Jean platform tan sandals were $25 and a sexy pair of Nine West calf hair, leopard print kitten pumps were $35.

An Isabella Fiore Leather Clutch handbag was $75. A Coach Shoulder bag was $125 and a Dooney and Burke cream leather satchel was $65.

I love this little shop and what they do. The help was terrific. There when you need them and give you space when you don’t.

Parking is $8 in the pay lot next door or street parking if you can find it. There are other good outlet stores here including a discount perfume outlet ( I’ll have the details up next week) and the always great Dish Factory.  So you have more than one bargain shopping haunt to hit.

Great discount resale shopping for a worthy cause.
