Discount Fragrance

By Suzanne O'Connor

Just when we start receiving our bills for the extra Holiday spending we did, it’s time to start thinking about Valentines Day. So I dug through some really old files and came across my moms old favorite for deals on perfume… Duty Free in Sherman Oaks.

This tried and true, family run perfume outlet is still around and still discounting 100’s of brand name and designer fragrances at 10%-70% off retail everyday. The shelves here are loaded with new and current perfumes as well as standards and hard to find fragrances for guys and gals from eau de cologne to pure perfume.

Deals spotted in women’s fragrance included a Betsy Johnson gift box with a 3.4 oz eau de parfum and a 6.7oz shower gel for $45.99 instead of the original $110.  A box set with a 1.7 oz eau de parfum bottle of Quel que Fleur, a 3.4 lotion and a 3.4 oz shower gel was another great buy at $59.99 instead of the retail value of $150.  A Jivago 2.5 oz eau de parfum w/ stand retails at $145 but is here at $79. A John Vartos 3.3 eau de parfum retails at $95 but is here for $45 or you can buy the tester at $35.99.  Lanvin Eclat D’Arpege is a popular fragrance. A 1.7 eau de parfum normally sells for $70 but here it’s 50% off at $35.

The men’s fragrances is as vast as the women’s selection is, taking up a whole wall. Deals include the line of Bond No (17 different scents). A 1.7 EDT retails for $150 but for Valentines Day it’s $100. Men’s Boucheron gift set with a 1.7 oz EDT and after shave balm is just $45. A bottle of Burberry Weekend 1.7 oz EDT is here at $44 instead of $62. Some Francesco Smalto 1.0 oz EDT retails at $25. Here is $8.

Not only do they sell well-known fragrances at a discount, but they also sell some of the most expenses fragrances in the world including the Montale line which are fragrances aged in oak barrels and the Royal line of Oman… Amouage. Retailing at $95-$650 and The ultra luxury line Xerjojj at $1885 for a 3.4 pure perfum and soaps and perfumes that were around during the time of Napoleons in 1795.

They’ve also expanded by developing their own in house line of Unisex fragrances, Parfumerie Natural. I was particularly taken with “Sunset Over Santorini. This 3.4 eau de parfum goes for $65.

What ever your fragrance needs or dreams are, you can find it at Duty Free. Both owners Janet and Tony will use their expertise to help you find the scent of your dreams or a loved ones favorite scent for less.
