Bargain Finds

Deja Vu Fashions

Back when I was teaching at Scripps College in Claremont, I used to stop into Déjà Vu Resale. I hadn’t been in a long time, so it was time to go back.

Wow… this women’s resale shop has gotten even better. They are bigger, have a better selection of designer goods for women as well as vintage clothing for gals and guys….and they even have a small room with vintage home décor finds…. All at 30%-85% below retail everyday!

This place is packed with goodies, well organized, but you still should allow some time to shop. Most racks are organized by size and type of clothing, but shoes and handbags are all over the store and the average savings are 60%-70% off original retail.

Owner Norma Jean is a joy and a clothing fanatic. She picks out only the best items, in the best condition to consign but will start discounting to even steeper discounts after 30 days or if she thinks the item has been in the store too long. She also can help you find something specific for an event or special occasion.

Good names here from couture to budget friendly: Brook Brothers, Kensi, Chico’s, Chanel, Nicole Miller, Earl Jeans, DKNY, Marc by Marc Jacobs, Baily 44, Tahari, Ella Moss, Bebe, Ralph Lauren,  Moschino, YSL, Ferragmo, Ellen Tracy, BCBG, Juicy Couture, Wayne Rogers, Eileen Fisher, Dooney & Burke, Coach and many more.

Some Michael Kors jeans were $80 instead of $150. An Eileen Fisher black velvet vintage coat was just $65. A BCBG white jacket was a steal at $30 instead of $180. I was speechless at a Lafayette 148 tweed jacket priced at $75 instead of $400. A classic Saint John Knit dress was $450 instead $2800. Some Robert Rodriguez pants were $32 instead of $300. A pair of 7 For All Mankind jeans were $55 instead of $160. A vintage George Simonton maxi skirt suit was another stylish buy at $55 .Some 1970’s vintage Gucci boots were $400 and a pair of Not Your daughters jeans were $80 instead of $110.

A YSL canvas and leather handbags was $650. A Marc Jacob pink satchel was $750 instead of $1600. And a yummy chocolate vintage Ferragamo handbag was a steal at $350. She also had a few Louis Vuitton at below market pricing.

Turnover here is super quick so this is a store you visit whenever you have a free moment or are in the area.  This is a terrific little resale shop for the fashion savvy bargain shopper. I’d definitely pop in again!
