With the holiday season looming ahead, I was saddened to hear that
one of my favorite toy stores, Miss Katie’s Toy Depot had
closed up. But my sadness turned into gladness real fast when I
found them online. I originally researched and reviewed Miss Katie’s
in 2003 found them a great source then and have found their website
a great source now.
Owner, Lisa Wood buys, closeouts, end of season overruns and remainders
from well-known manufacturers and distributors. Since as a parent
she knows what’s hip, what’s cool on TV and what her
daughter and friends are interested in, you’re gonna find
some cool deals on stuff your kids are gonna love.
Books, ball, bikes, candy, costumes, games, tv characters, stuffed
toys, puzzles, slimy toys, electronic… basically a plethora
of toys all at 10%-30% off.
For toddlers they had some developmental toys including a geometric
stacker with three different stacks for $14.95. A wooden stacking
train was also a good buy at $14.95. I bought one 9 years ago for
$19. Perfect for all ages is a Jacobs ladder toy, this standard
Christmas gift is $3.99. Older kids should love a 20”, 12
speed mountain bike is $79.99, or a battery operated air hockey
games for $16.99. Sponge Bob seem to entertain both kids and adults.
Here there’s a plush 12. 5 inch Sponge Bob for $4.99. A train
whistle was super cheap at $1.49. These regularly go for $3. I found
a large collection of character lamps from Mickey and Tinker Bell
to Spiderman and The Simpson all priced at $59.99. Retail could
run up to $69.
For those of you who have to buy gifts for kids this year, Miss
Katie’s should be your first stop.
