| The internet
has become a bargain hunters paradise with almost everything imaginable
available for sale. Though I shop many more websites than the ones
I have posted, I chosen these because of their good selection, fair
return policies and quality of merchandise available for gift giving.
Okay bargain shoppers….on your mark… get set…
SHOP!
Amazon.com
Though it’s not always a bargain haven for goods, you can
usually find good buys on books, music, electronics, home theater,
clothing, tools, jewelry, toys and more. The site is well organized,
the shipping is fast and returns are easy.
Search under Clearance or Friday Sale to find items severely marked
down like large Pashmina silk and cashmere shawls at $31.99 instead
of $199.
Overstock.com
This bargain shopping website has savings of 30%-50% on a large
selection of overproduction goods from clothing to home theater
and furniture to jewelry. You can even give a gift card.
Start your hunt in the clearance bin area where you can pick up
a plethora of items at average savings of 60%-90% off.
Smartbargains.com
Another all time favorite, I have picked up incredible deals on
jewelry, bedding and house wares here on many occasions. Thousands
of items in almost every category imaginable at 20%-60% less. Easy
returns and fast delivery make this another first shop stop on the
web.
Bluefly.com
I often cruise Bluefly to comparison price designer goods at local
stores. Blue fly get in season and last seasons men’s and
women’s designer apparel and accessories and sell them at
30%-80% off original retail. The handbag and shoe selections are
usually stellar. Always start in the clearance section and then
work your way through the rest of the site.
Bargain Outfitters.com
This site has some of the best deals I have ever seen on outdoor
wear and gear. I have been known to buy something in July off this
site and hold it for a Holiday gift for my in-laws. The discounts
are steep 35%-90% with most in the 40%-60% range. But there are
not just boots and parkas here…. I have seen lambskin jackets,
chronograph watches and other goodies here also at the same silly
discounts. Fun, easy shopping. Join the e-mail list and you’ll
snag stellar buys all year.
Shop4tech.com
Every family has a techie in the family. Buying for them is never
easy except on this site were you can find also sorts of interesting
gifts for the loveable nerd in your family. Just note what they
want and punch it in here and chances are you’ll find it for
less. Dvd burners, USB Flash drives, IPod accessories and more.
eCost.com
Another great site for nerds techies and well the rest of us, ECost
has a tremendous selection of computers by Sony and Hewlett Packard
as well as cameras, tv’s, cell phones, monitors, MP3 players
and more. Savings can run as little zip or as high as 40% off.
EBay
Though it can be tricky, if you have someone who is into collectibles
or if there is something very specific you can search for, you can
do really well. I have purchased over half of my hubbies Christmas
gifts on Ebay. Shop before 12/10 to insure on time delivery. Look
for good description of the product with plenty of photos and check
the sellers feedback ratings. If you’re a seasoned Ebay shopper
you’ll know when it’s time to pounce. I have particularly
done well in kitchen supplies, cookware, lighting and toys. I have
run into disappointments in clothing, bedding and dishware.
Happy Holidays!
