As I speak to
other moms, I find many are asking for practical gifts. I include
myself in this cause I asked for dumb bells for mothers day.
Weights for exercising around the house. I don’t recommend
giving sewing machines or vacuum unless asked for, but practical gifts
are valuable in creating an easier day….for anybody.
Mothers Day is about the only holiday you could get away with
anything practical.
If your mom is trying to get an exercise regime started you could
start with dumb bells or other types of exercise equipment: exercise
bikes, treadmills, weights, stair climbers etc. Perhaps just getting
the gear to start participating in sports … golf clubs and bags,
tennis rackets, surf boards? Okay, okay, I couldn’t talk my mom into
surfing, but you get the idea. There are several sources for find
sporting goods for less in Southern California. My first choice is
always consignment sources. You’ll easily save 50%-90% on gear at
these sources, but because it’s consignment the stock can vary
widely.

If you’re mom is not in the area and you want to send a gift try Overstock.com.
Everything I have ever ordered has
shown up on time, as described without any problems. I may have to go
the impractical route and ask for the 24” black Pearl necklace for
$54. This steal of a deal has 6.5-7mm sized black cultured pearls they
claim would retail for $450. I recently saw a shorter 16” black
pearl necklace for $220 in a store window and thought that was fairly
priced. There’s tons of stuff on this website and we have
recommended it for online bargain shoppers without hesitation for over
2 years.
We love 1.800
Flowers and regularly use them for “Thank you” gifts. For
Mothers Day they have this Crabtree and Evelyn Hatbox filled with
Lavender soaps lotions and gels starting at $29.99 for small and up to
$79.99 for a large box. If
she loves lavender, this gift is a sure bet. You can also save an
additional 15% if you have the gift delivered on 5/3-5/5.
I don’t really think of this source as a bargain, but they do
make it easy to give a nice gift.
Whatever you decide to do or get for Mothers Day… The most important
thing is to remember your mom.
